As a child, I actually enjoyed getting braces (and endured the pain that came along with them) because it meant we got to go to town, and I could go to the comic book store?!? Ah…comic books! Was there ever a more perfect medium of expression. I’d spend as much of my hard-earned money as …

Biking Update (2019)
When I was a kid my absolute favorite thing to do was ride my bike. I started off with a Huffy with a banana seat. Next up was a BMX dirt bike. We set up ramps of extremely perilous nature in the neighborhood and tested the limits of the earth’s gravitational pull. Ramps at the …
Career Epic Fails (So Far…)!
I recently wrote an blog post about my career progression. I’ve done ok! [This concludes our previous broadcast] So that covers my LinkedIn page (https://www.linkedin.com/in/joeydean/). Those are the jobs and careers that I talk about (people only talk about their successes…right?!?). But remember when I said I was side-gigging since those high school car washing …
Career Update (2019)
Until recently, I’ve been the primary breadwinner in our family while Emily has been at home taking care of the four kids. By the way…I’ll take what I was getting to do any day of the week over what she got to do! Teamwork makes the dream work. I’ve always taken my job/career very seriously. …
Fitness Update (2019)
It is no secret looking at my Dad bod that fitness has never really been a strong point for me. I am 1) short, 2) weak, 3) unathletic, 4) uncoordinated, and 5) generally a mess in the genetically gifted department. On top of having all this going for me (?!?) add in the fact that …
Family Update (2019)
Emily and I have been married for a couple of decades and we’ve been busy raising our four kids almost the entire time. We met in college and immediately started having little ones. I always believed that we were already poor so we might as well have our kids and be REALLY poor. We’ve been …
Travel Update (2019)
There is a great big world out there and I haven’t seen most of it! I intend to do my best to change that. First Let’s Back Up I’ve been to some pretty cool places in my life. Many I’ve visited multiple times and some I’ve been to once but could have spent much longer …
Hiking Update (2019)
There are few places I’d rather be than tromping around in the woods somewhere. I like biking for sure but I like hiking equally (if not more). I’ve definitely ridden more miles (and spent more time riding) than I have spent hiking. Recently however I’ve reversed this. In 2019 I’ve spent a ton of time …
BHAGs!
Have Goals! Live your life with goals. Cross things off your list, add new things, repeat! I’m an old man with ADHD who is always in chase of his next BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal). I might move quickly from topic to topic, but they all interweave together into this thing called life. I only …
Movies Update (2019)
MOVIES!!! I’m a fan of fine cinema! I find it amazing that I can sit down and basically be transported into another world that a huge team of creative people has spent countless hours and probably many millions of dollars to create. The best part is all it costs me is a few bucks and …
