I was cleaning off a hard drive recently and found an old file that brought back sweet memories. Back in the early days of YouTube (and MySpace), a response video was a thing. In the early days of YouTube (in 2007) a viral video (Chocolate Rain by Tay Zonday) and ultimately response video(s) to it (including one by John Mayer) wound up making one of my favorite songs ever. It was produced by internet sensation (?!?) Brad T Brown. I’m sure you’ve heard of him?!? If you haven’t it doesn’t mean his story doesn’t need to be told far and wide. If this tribute video doesn’t get a copyright flag/strike I don’t know how?!?! It is a risk I’m willing to take. This story must be told! I don’t know where Brad T Brown is today but I hope he finds this to know how much joy his song (and associated response video) brought me! I watched this video on loop with a work buddy during many late-night coding sessions! This is the YouTube content I’m here for!!! Caution: CRUDE…but funny…as Chocolate Rain!
