We drove up to Lafayette, TN (while up at Bledsoe Creek State Park) for what we thought would be a short, mile and a half long hike.  Our target was Winding Stairs Trail.  5+ miles, a couple of thousand feet of elevation, and almost 3 hours later we finished a very enjoyable hike!  There were several little trails including Red Oak, Milk Pail, Jacob’s Ladder, Cascades, and of course the Winding Stairs!  When all added up it was much more than what we thought we were in for.  But worth it.  We were completely surprised at how beautiful this area was.  This hike made into onto my list of epic ground pounds (currently at #7).  It is worth the drive for this one!  When I hike an awesome trail, I try to keep track of it here:
