We’ve hiked the trail to Clingmans Dome (in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park) several times over the years. It is a quick, steep hike. We did it a few fairly spectacular times. One time in 2014 for a sunrise which was one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen in my life. This year after a full day of hiking another big trail we tried to catch a sunset at Clingman’s Dome. We failed at first but were victorious in the end!
