We went to Rock Island State Park…again. We got rained out on our first trip there. REDUX! We rebooked and went right back. We started off heading up Eagle Trail to Blue Hole Trail. The Blue Hole Trail was probably my favorite trail in the park. It is a very unique trail and an unexpected adventure (you will get wet). The next day we explored the rest of the park including the Great Falls area, the TVA hydropower plant, the Great Falls dam, and the spring house. It was very interesting seeing the difference in water levels between both of our trips. Our longest hike was the Downstream Trail. This hike is filled with views of waterfalls and scenic overlooks of a very wild river about every direction you looked. My leading lady refused to take direction in our action-adventure movie. C’mon Emily!?! The Upstream Trail was closed but we explored the TVA hydro plant from the bottom and watched the sun go down at Great Falls. We had to go twice to get it all done and it was TOTALLY worth the effort!
