TL/DR: If the currency isn’t scarce, everything else on the planet that humans desire will become scarce. I’ve spent the last 15+ years (since the ’08 financial crisis) trying to figure out how to manage money during unprecedented times. We are living in an experiment. My guess is you are going to have to try …

Visiting White Oak Pastures (I Met Will Harris!)
It has been a year since I started learning about regenerative farming (and White Oak Pastures). In a stroke of serendipity, our Spring Break road trip this year took us right by their farm in Bluffton, GA. It would be crazy to not stop by for a quick visit?!? As we drove I made the …

Winterizing The Farm and The RV (DeanoFarms: Week 34)
I didn’t think through winterizing our building for the winter very well this first winter. I got busy and kept putting it off. Then, it got really cold! I solved it after a cold spike in late December. But, not before I rang up a big ‘ol gas bill. No busted water pipes, however. I …

Sunrise and Sunset at Natchez Trace State Park
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan when traveling to a new place. We were winter camping but the weather was beautiful and not too cold at all. I planned a big hike, but we punted on that when we got to the campground. We had a great lakeside spot. I decided we needed to …

Winter Camping at David Crockett State Park (Lawrenceburg, TN)
We headed down the Natchez Trace Parkway to Lawrenceburg, TN for some winter camping at David Crockett State Park. There was beautiful ice in the trees on the way down. The weather cooperated all weekend and we got our first trip of 2023 completed. This one had all the staples with hikes, waterfalls, a campfire, …

Deano’s One Disc White Album
Task: Cut the White Album down to a single disk (15 songs) AND resequence the album. Joey’s Resequence Notes: I view this album as the first sign that the Beatles would break up. I’ve sequenced the album in that fashion. From songs the entire band was involved in and fairly typical (whatever that means) Beatles …
Deano’s Force Ranked Beatles Albums
The Beatles are my favorite musical group of all time without question.I wrote about that here: https://deanorolls.com/2020/04/14/deanos-musical-masterworks-the-beatles/ My friends recently did the impossible, we decided to force rank our favorite Beatles songs and the results of that are here: https://deanorolls.com/2022/06/30/beatles-top-ten-songs-from-people-who-know-stuff/ Then we decided to force rank our favorite Beatles albums. My methodology for this was …
Finding My Property Line (DeanoFarms: Week 26)
Today I hacked through the overgrown jungle to find my property line. I knew it was in there somewhere. More work to be done but I found what I was looking for on this day. #DeanoFarms
Learning at 2.5x!
TL/DR: I am now soaking my brain in knowledge at 2.5x+ speed! I listen to a ton of podcasts (and have for several years). Over the years I’ve listened to over 1,700 podcasts (1,580 hours / 66 days). Yes, I keep track…like any good nerd should! Whatever topic I’m interested in learning about I choose …
Fall Mowing and Clearing Fencerows (DeanoFarms: Week 19)
Mowing day is not my favorite day because I like projects (as opposed to maintenance). Emily likes mowing so she does that part. I get my weed-eating done as quickly as possible and then work on projects while she drives the mower. My projects usually involve clearing out a fencerow. Clearing fencerows usually allows me …
